1. U-factor
How much heat can escape through the window? Between 0 and 1 –
the lower the number, the better insulation performance. 0.15 will insulate better than a U-factor of 0.30.
2. Solar Heat Gain Co-efficient (SHGC)
How much sunlight can it block? Between 0 and 1 — the lower the rating the more heat is blocked. A SHGC of 0.35 will allow more heat to pass through than a SHGC of 0.27.
3. Visible Transmittance (VT)
How much visible light is allowed through? A rating of 0.50 permits less light transmittance than 0.75.The higher the number the more visible light is allowed to pass through.
4. Air Leakage
How much air infiltration is permitted? Typically between 0.1 and 0.3, with a lower number indicating reduced air leakage.
